Middle Strait and Humphrey Strait are major obstacles

on the Andaman Trunk Road, with vehicles having

to be transported in small ferries to reach North

and Middle Andaman, taking nearly three hours

longer. The bridges will create socio-economic

growth and will ensure seamless access for the

armed forces during an emergency.
